2007 Aug 23rd - Getting a Kitten

Thursday, August 23, 2007

Please help!
Category: Pets and Animals

I'm getting a kitten. It'll be a little girl kitten and she's going to be my friend for the next few months while I'm still off sick. She's going to be taught during the next few months NOT to touch my leather sofa.......on pain of eviction.

Still I have the problem of a name. She's mostly black if that helps............suggestions much appreciated!

Call it "Golden Palace Casino" and tell everyone that they paid you $2,000,000 to call it that. Talk about an ice-breaker!

K to the I to the double T WHY! That's my best suggestion yet and definitely the one you should stick with.

Or how about Marvin? After Marvin the Martian? He's so cute! And don't give me that crap about the cat not being a male. Nothing stopped you calling your female rabbit "ALFIE"

Peter

Necromancer seems okay to me, or if you need a female name Necromanceress.

? Erm.......interesting suggestion Peter. I don't know stories my mother has been spouting (keep her off the gin, it's fatal) but I've never been into raising the dead or any kind of black magic.

I'm actually getting a kitten because it's a new life and I want nothing to do with death. Not sure the neighbours would be too happy about me shouting Necromanceress at the back door especially whilst lisping on chemo - we get on quite well at the moment!

How about Black Magic or Jetta?

Caroline

Hmm - a little kitten - how about "Zowie" - we had a lovely fluffy cat when the girls were small and they called her Zowie. Let us know what name you decide on!

Hehe, that reminds me of Captain Caveman! We need to meet the little fluffball first but I'm really stuck on ideas - will let you know and post pics!

Saphira (if you've seen Eragon she is the Dragon), Souxise (is that how you spell it?), Derek is a really good name but obviously for a boy, I want a dog called that! urrrmmmmm...Oi is a good name. Someone once called their cat Widget. I'll put my thinking cap on love!

Oooo I like dragons! Karys would like that too......I've not seen Eragon but I was a big Anne McAffrey fan with the Dragons of Pern series. Siouxsie was an option but that's what Rob's first dog was called, his cat was called Toyah! So far Karys has come up with Gretyl, Emilie (after Emilie Autumn an industrial violinist - her stuff's not bad actually and she's rather pretty in a gothy way), Wednesday (after Wednesday Addams) but the kitten is described as cheeky and bouncy not like a teenager who's been banned from MSN!) oh and Pandora.

It's a minefield this naming business - I had less trauma choosing 5 babies names (and believe me that was a BIG struggle).
