The naming of the kitten She's soooo cute. She cried ALL the way home apart from a few minutes where she had a bit of a snooze. When we let her out she ran around being a kitten for ages, then started scratching at the doormat so I picked her up to remind her where the litter tray was - oops too late - thank god for laminate washable flooring! It was only wee. Eventually after much debate I was persuaded to accept Gretyl We took the top off her carrier and Karys donated a French fleece (bought cheaply on a school trip when the sun disappeared) for bedding and we shut the utility door. Alfie rabbit is in there too but she didn't seem too phased by it - I bought her lots of treats too so she doesn't feel left out. Think we might leave it a few days before they can actually touch just in case! Alfie is about four times bigger than Gretyl and can move pretty fast and grunt if necessary. However Gretyl has teeny weeny claws and likes to play fight which Alfie never has, being a prey animal. I'm hoping that like other cats and rabbits they'll like each other and snuggle up (how cute would that be). Gretyl has been sat on my lap this morning "helping" me type and is now having a wash after this mornings kitten antics - tail chasing, feather chasing, shoe fighting, curtain climbing (eek, not the new curtains) etc. She mewed a bit this morning when I came down to find her (not in her bed but on a carrier bag (?)). After the first night without her mummy she got lots of cuddles and started purring very quickly. She's a chatty little thing which her other "mummy" told us about thankfully or I'd be worried she was very unhappy and just crying It was really good to have a reason to get up this morning and not lie in bed for another couple of hours pointless sleep on a sunny day. 11:42 - 3 Comments - 4 Kudos - Add Comment - Edit - Remove |
